Cyera, a data security company building a unified data and identity platform for enterprises, has secured a $400m investment from Goldman Sachs to strengthen control over what AI agents can access and do.
The capital comes from Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives as an extension to Cyera’s Series G, which was led by Evolution Equity. The funding supports the company’s goal of creating one platform to govern access for every human, machine and AI agent operating within an organisation.
Cyera plans to put the money towards new features on its AI Security product roadmap. It will also use the funding to expand further into the federal market and to keep growing internationally across EMEA and APAC, regions where enterprises increasingly want oversight of their agents.
The raise comes as AI agents take on a growing share of enterprise work. These agents differ from conventional software because they reason, adopt identities, call on tools, reach sensitive data and act on their own at machine speed. The broader their access, the more useful they are, but the damage also grows if that access is breached or drifts away from what the business intends.
According to Cyera, this makes agents one of the quickest-growing security threats enterprises have faced. Existing security architecture was designed around people and applications rather than millions of autonomous actors, and the company argues that protecting the agentic enterprise requires a model that unites data and identity.
Cyera began by protecting the data layer and this year extended that protection to the agents working with it. Its Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint products let enterprises monitor and hold AI agents accountable. They track prompts and responses as well as the tool calls, database queries and actions that happen between them. This coverage runs from the cloud to endpoint devices, where local agents such as Claude Code and Cursor are increasingly handling sensitive tasks.
Cyera also acquired Oasis Security, which merges this visibility with non-human identity (NHI) management in one system. The combined platform links where sensitive data sits with who or what can reach it. This gives enterprises a single way to govern access across humans, machines and AI agents.
Cyera is valued at more than $12bn. Its backers include Accel, Blackstone, Cyberstarts, Georgian, Lightspeed and Sequoia.
Cyera cofounder and CEO Yotam Segev said, “Global 2000 enterprises are telling us the same thing: they need to trust what AI agents can see and do before they can scale them.
“AI infrastructure is moving faster than the security architecture around it. This investment accelerates our work to bring data and identity together, so enterprises can give agents access with confidence and keep that access aligned with business intent.”
Goldman Sachs Alternatives managing director within Growth Equity Irit Kahan said, “Securing AI will be one of the defining categories in enterprise technology over the next decade.
“Cyera was the first to bring data and identity together, and as agents multiply faster than anyone can track, the gap between what they’re trusted to do and what they can actually reach is becoming increasingly dangerous. Cyera’s technology, customer traction, and execution position it to become the platform enterprises rely on to secure AI.”
