eSentire, the managed detection and response company, has secured two new patents from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
The first patent closed by the cybersecurity company is called USPTO Patent No. 10,412,111. It covers eSentire’s artificial intelligence approach that detects malicious behaviour in a network and then creates a threat score that security analysts can use to respond efficiently. This invention is the fourth artificial intelligence patent that eSentire has integrated within its platform and processes.
The second patent is called USPTO Patent No. 10,382,481. It covers the cybersecurity company’s ability to respond to and disrupt encrypted malicious traffic targeting a customer’s network.

In May this year, eSentire joined the Tenable Assure Partner Program and boosted its security portfolio.
A few months earlier, in March, eSentire secured a $47m investment led by Warburg Pincus, the venture capital firm. Growth equity firms Edison Partners and Georgian Partners also participated in the round. At the time, eSentire said it would use the money to accelerate its development of solutions protecting data.
