Cyber exposure firm Tenable is planning to purchase cloud-native security company Accurics for a total fee of $160m.
According to Security Week, the deal is expected to close later this year and is Tenable’s most expensive acquisition to date. The purchase will expand the company’s product portfolio with capabilities to detect security issues and vulnerabilities before they become risks.
Tenable noted that the all-cash deal extends ‘its broader cloud strategy’ and with help enterprises secure their full cloud stacks both at build-time and at run time.
Tenable is an attack surface management firm and is focused on identifying and securing any digital asset on any computing platform. The firm claims its customers include more than 50% of the Fortune 500 and more than 30% of the Global 2000 and large government agencies.
The Maryland-based business credited Accurics for building ‘innovative self-healing technology’ that is capable of identifying and addressing issues in code used to quickly deploy cloud-native services.
Security Week detailed that the start-up’s technology can be used to connect security to the build process before deployment in order to address misconfigurations and monitor runtime infrastructure post-deployment for drift.
