Cyber compliance platform ByteChek nets seed round

Miami-based cybersecurity compliance platform ByteChek has raised $3m in its seed funding round, to support its product enhancements.

The capital injection will help ByteChek double the size of its team, with the focus on hiring engineer and product professionals. ByteChek also plans to expand its automated features for cybersecurity frameworks, including enhancing its all-in-one SOC 2 offering, improving HIPAA and ISO 27001 software solutions.

Authentic Ventures served as the lead investor, with commitments also coming from Concrete Rose Capital, Level Up Ventures (Hearst), Black Venture Capital Consortium, Miami Angels and Black Angels Miami. As part of the deal, Authentic Ventures managing partner Lindsay Lee has joined the board of directors.

The seed round was also backed by various angel investors, including Nick Caldwell, Kimberly Marshall, Tom Stocky, Omri Dahan, Chris Singleton, Malcolm Robinson, Corey Quinn, Greg Waldorf and many others.

ByteChek, which launched in 2020, the platform helps organisations of all sizes improve their cybersecurity posture and improve compliance. It enables companies to build a security program, automate readiness assessments and complete SOC 2 audits.

It currently has a team of eight and has grown its customer base by more than 40% in the past two months.
