US payment processing firm BluePay is partnering with New York startup CardFlight to bring its EMV mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution to clients.
CardFlight’s SwipeSimple solution provides an EMV chip-and-pin card reader to merchants for Android or iOS devices, a mobile processing platform, as well as inventory tracking and a reporting portal.
The partnership comes just under a year after the US instituted the shift to EMV payments.
“BluePay is invested in the welfare of our merchants. It is our top priority to provide the most advanced payment security methods to maintain their trust and business, and in turn, their customers find value in this too,” said Tim Trench, EVP of product at BluePay.
“Today, a customer is more likely to purchase from a business that offers an extra layer of payment protection with chip card terminals and mobile card readers than a business that doesn’t.”
CardFlight has raised $5.8m in funding to date, most recently a $4.2m Series A round in October 2015.
