Remind me closes €1m Seed round from High-Tech Gründerfonds

Remind me, a contract and insurance policy reminder solution, has received a €1m seed round from High-Tech Gründerfonds.

Berlin-based Remind me offers a reminder and recommendation service for contacts and insurance policies, to ensure users do not miss cancelation deadlines and are provided with recommendations for better tariffs. For gas and electricity bills, the platform can automatically switch service providers to simplify the process.

Remind me, which launched early 2017, has reached six-figure revenues, according to the company.

With this funding, the company will look to optimising its platform and growing collaborations in Germany, as well as expanding its current team.

remind me co-founder Daniel Engelbarts said, “In Germany, nowhere near enough of us regularly review our contracts and get better deals. On average, households pass up on savings of EUR 1,700 per year in the five main categories alone. With remind.me, we are looking to put a stop to this and help put more money back in people’s pockets.”

High-Tech Gründerfonds is currently raising its third fund, and recently held the €316.5m second close. HTGF III has surpassed its initial €310m target and has received contributions from LPs including the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Bayer and Boehringer Ingelheim, among others.

Earlier in the month, fellow Berlin-based FinTech simpleinsurance closed its Series C funding on $24m. The company, which received investments from Allianz, Rheingau Founders and Rakuten Capital, provides customers with product insurance policies at the point of sale.

Other recent activity in Germany’s FinTech space saw Deutsche Börse partner with banking service provider figo and digital identification platform Finologee to create a FinTech Acceleration platform.
