Technology and services investor Bessemer Venture Partners is looking to raise its 10th flagship fund.
Bessemer Venture Partners X Institutional has yet to register any capital, according to the latest US SEC filing.
The form does not outline a target for the fundraise; however, its predecessor raised $1.6bn in 2015.
It is not clear whether the new vehicle will keep the same strategy as the prior fund, or if it will change up the focus.
Investing globally, the firm looks to back businesses operating within the consumer internet, enterprise technology, mobile, cybersecurity, cloud computing, SaaS, developer platforms and infrastructure, healthcare and space. The firm also explores new areas of opportunities.
Bessemer make investments from seed and series A stage through to the growth round of funding.
The firm’s previous investments include identity theft protection business LifeLock, personal-finance security service Billguard, collaborative threat intelligence platform IDD, cyber threat intelligence company iSIGHT Partners, and authentication & authorization platform AuthO.
In March, Bessemer led a $25m Series C round for Kenna Security, a San Francisco-provider of predictive cyber risk. While just last week, the firm took part in a $15m funding round for Capsule8, a zero-day attack detection platform.
Bessemer has also previously backed DocuSign, which helps small- and medium-sized businesses collect information, automate data workflows, and sign on various devices. Its portfolio also includes Team8, an Israeli cyber-security venture capital fund, which is currently looking to raise a new $85m vehicle.
The firm has been very active within the FinTech space, having taken part in the $15.6m funding of Spruce last week. Spruce is a title insurance solution which integrates with lenders to help streamline the mortgage closing process for consumers.
This year alone has seen Bessemer close seven investments in the FinTech space. Some of the recent transactions include participation in Centivo’s $34m Series A, lead contribution to Fabric’s $10m Series A and a backing to Virtru’s $37.5m funding.
