Tech investment major TCV has promoted long-serving software, fintech and IT exec Nari Ansari to general partner.
Ansari joined TCV in 2006 and has since played an integral role in the firm’s B2B investing practices and collective efforts to accelerate growth at its portfolio companies, the firm said.
Prior to TCV Ansari was with McKinsey & Company in the San Francisco office, where he focused on assisting clients in the software, storage, and semiconductor sectors.
Portfolio companies Ansari is working with include cloud-based tax compliance business Avalara and cross-border payments provider Payoneer.
TCV is believed to be in the market for up to $2.5bn of new capital through its tenth flagship fundraise, according to a report by the WSJ earlier this year.
The firm held a $2.5bn final close for TCV IX in August 2016.
Last month AltAssets reported that the firm had raised at least $55m for a new specialist investment fund, TCV Sports.
