Chatbot developer Directly said to raise $20m

Chatbot solution Directly has reportedly secured $20m in a new funding round led by Samsung.

Other contributions to the round came from AvidBank, M12, Costanoa Ventures, Industry Ventures, Northgate and True Ventures, according to a report from PYMNTS.

Directly is an AI-powered chatbot solution which helps companies to offer automated responses to questions from customers. The technology can integrate with existing infrastructure and can analyse customer interactions to improve experiences.

Chatbot technology has become a popular way for businesses to automate various manual processes in customer interactions. All industries can make use of the service to improve operations.

India’s YES Bank recently formed a partnership with Microsoft’s cognitive services to power its AI-enabled chatbot YES ROBOT. The chatbot lets a customer manage their credit card, view summaries, bill payments, reward points and access loan eligibility calculators.

Last year, Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan launched a pilot of Supportomate’s chatbot after making an investment into the Israel-based startup. The service provides human-like conversations to customers and help with completing insurance transactions.
