French FinTech Bankin’ introduces new bank API Bridge Pay

FinTech app Bankin’ has expanded its offering with a new API dubbed Bridge Pay.
The solution will empower users to initiate payments using bank transfers through the app.

Launched in 2011, French Bankin’ has attracted four million customers that use it to aggregate all their bank accounts into the app, similarly to how British Curve brings all customers’ payment solutions in under one umbrella.

The French scaleup has also been managing Bridge, an API allowing developers to connect with bank account to fetch transaction data. Bridge Pay is an extension of this old setup.

Bankin’ is planning to use Bridge Pay to become a payment API too, TechCrunch reported.

The scalup is claiming that the new solution will be useful for e-commerce companies that sell expensive items without having to maxing out on their credit cards.

Another opportunity is to use it to automate business-to-business transactions without the need to interact with a bank account.
