Key European WealthTech investment stats in Q2 2026:
- European WealthTech deal activity dropped 21% YoY in Q2
- UK retained its position as the main European WealthTech hub as companies based in the region secured 22% of all deals

European WealthTech deal activity dropped 21% YoY in Q2
European WealthTech companies recorded 37 deals in Q2 2026, down 16% from 44 transactions in Q2 2025 and 21% from 47 in Q1 2026.
Funding fell to $185.5m, a 73% decline from $698m in Q2 2025 and 46% below the $343.2m raised in Q1 2026.
Both measures declined across all comparisons, pointing to a quarter of considerably reduced activity.
Average deal size also contracted, falling to $5m in Q2 2026 from $15.9m in Q2 2025 and $7.3m in Q1 2026, underlining the extent to which larger transactions have stepped back from the market.
UK retained its position as the main European WealthTech hub as companies based in the region secured 22% of all deals
UK retained its position as the most active European WealthTech market in Q2 2026, but its dominance narrowed considerably.
It recorded eight deals and a 22% share of total activity, down from 19 deals and a 43% share in Q2 2025, a 58% decline in volume and a sharp reduction in its proportional standing.
France held second place in both periods, growing from five deals and an 11% share in Q2 2025 to six deals and a 16% share in Q2 2026, a 20% rise in volume and a meaningful gain in its share of overall activity.
Germany retained third place in both periods, climbing from three deals and a 7% share in Q2 2025 to four deals and an 11% share in Q2 2026, a 33% increase in volume that also pushed its proportional standing higher.
The ranking remained unchanged across both periods, but the most consequential shift is the UK’s sharp retreat in both volume and share.
As the overall market contracted, France and Germany each held their ground more effectively, narrowing the gap with the leading market and pointing to a more balanced distribution of European WealthTech activity across the top three.
Bunch, a German WealthTech company providing infrastructure for European private markets, raised $35m in a Series B round, marking one of the top European WealthTech deals of the second quarter
The round was led by Portage, with participation from new backer Illuminate Financial and existing investors Motive Partners, Cherry Ventures, FinTech Collective and several angel investors, bringing total capital raised to over $58m.
Founded in 2021, Bunch serves more than 150 fund managers and 12,000 limited partners through a platform that integrates secure data systems, AI-driven workflows and fund services across the full fund lifecycle, covering digital investor onboarding, fund administration, accounting and tax reporting.
The company is targeting a structural gap in European private markets, where fund managers have historically relied on fragmented, spreadsheet-era infrastructure ill-suited to operating across multiple jurisdictions.
Proceeds will fund market expansion across Germany, Luxembourg and UK, as well as enhanced automation and AI integration across core fund operations including capital calls, compliance processes and reporting.
