Getsafe introduces car insurance to its portfolio through iptiQ partnership

InsurTech Getsafe has added car insurance to its digital insurance portfolio, creating car insurance policies optimised for smartphones.

“Car insurance is one of the largest insurance segments in Germany, with premiums of almost €30bn,” said Christian Wiens, CEO and founder at Getsafe. “This is a particular milestone for us, as we now have one the most important insurance products in our portfolio. Customers always have their insurance by their side via the Getsafe app. Car insurance has never been more simple.”

Getsafe developed the new policy through thorough conversations with its customers, enabling the InsurTech venture to offer a flexible service that’s available via an app and that offers stable prices. “Being so close to customers is unique for an insurance company, and it really motivates us,” argued Wiens.

Customers can cancel their policies at any time and be given the opportunity to buy insurance on their smartphones, file a claim and manage their policy in real time.

In order to launch its car insurance product, Getsafe worked closely with iptiQ, the B2B2C white label insurer of Swiss Re. “Together, we thought out and developed a car insurance product from scratch for customers who expect a mobile experience,” Wiens said.

Getsafe inked a deal with insurance comparison website Quotezone.co.uk earlier this summer and launched an accident insurance product in April.

iptiQ has previously inked partnerships with Prima Assicurazioni and Independer.
