Six FinTech and cybersecurity companies you missed at the Cyber & FinTech Summit

The threat landscape around financial services is ever-evolving. Fortunately, many companies are looking to make it safe to do business.

Back in February, several international FinTech and cybersecurity companies met at the Cyber & FinTech Summit to share their ideas and experience.

Here are six ventures that made waves both at the summit and outside of it.

Cambridge Intelligence has developed graph-visualisation technologies that make the world safer. The business help law enforcement, cybersecurity professonals and fraud detection analysts understand their own data and better understand where the threats are. The idea is that if they can understand threats, they can better protect themselves against them.

CyberSmart is a cybersecurity company that provides an automated platform that helps businesses get and stay secure with recognised certification standards. It boasts about being able to prevent 80% of all hack attacks.

CyNation is the company behind a new integrated risk management and analytics platform. The platform is set up to enable organisations to proactively manage their cybersecurity, compliance, financial and reputational risks. Moreover, CyDesk’s solutions automate the life cycle of digital risk management from risk identification, analysis, mitigation to the ongoing review of risk impact on business operations.

Datactics is set up to help banks, data vendors, governments and other companies understand their datasets. It has created a suite of software tools that are easily configurable to the type of data the customers want to better understand. Clients have, for instance, used to tools to ensure the live up to comply to the rules of the EU’s updated Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and anti-money laundering legislation. The company was backed by Kernel Capital in 2018, although the amount invested was not disclosed.

DirectID is a Scottish FinTech company that helps financial institutions better understand their data. By understanding it, DirectID’s customers are then better equipped to create new and improved offerings.

PrivacySolved is not just a cybersecurity company. While the London-based comapny does help its clients create strong digital defences, it also lends its expertise to help businesses comply with everything from data privacy laws to staying abreast of new technologies.
