Banking software provider Backbase will provide its engagement banking platform to UNObank, DigiBankASIA’s digital bank.
This will see Backbase be part of the infrastructure behind the UNObank together with ecosystem partners Mambu and Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will enable UNObank to deliver a full spectrum of digital financial services for its initial launch in the Philippines.
“We are delighted to be chosen by DigiBankASIA to support the launch of UNObank,” said Jouk Pleiter, CEO and founder of Backbase. “Our engagement banking platform and solutions have proven itself in other markets and will provide a complete front-to-back solution, agility and creativity that is needed for UNO to become loved by their customers.
“Being the first-of-its-kind in Southeast Asia, we are excited to support UNO in its digital-first ambition to democratize access to digital financial services and products for users in the Philippines and the region.”
Backbase’s engagement banking platform is designed to digitise and streamline UNObank’s entire customer lifecycle, including onboarding and origination, as well as support the capabilities of next-generation experience management.
“Backbase’s global expertise, strong track record and suite of best-in-class solutions were critical in our deciding factor for the right engagement banking platform partner,” said Manish Bhai, CEO and co-founder of UNObank. “Together with AWS and Mambu, we are confident that the Backbase Engagement Banking platform is flexible and robust for us to scale up, evolve and adapt for the digital economy in the present and many years ahead.”
