Providence Equity Partners acquires Node4 from Bowmark Captial

UK-based private equity firm Bowmark Capital has sold its stake in IT infrastructure developer Node4 to US investor Providence Equity Partners.

This deal also marks the end of mid-market private equity LDC’s hold in Node4. The firm had initially invested into the IT company in 2013 and later reinvested for a minority share alongside Bowmark.

Bowmark acquired its position in Node4 back in 2016, but the size of the deal was not revealed.

During the five years holding period, Node4 doubled its sales and profits, and maintained strong organic growth through ‘significant’ new customer wins and offering enhanced solutions.

Capital from Bowmark was spent on hiring staff and deepening the systems, skills and product portfolio, it claims.

Node4 designs end-to-end IT infrastructure and services for clients in the financial services, automotive, healthcare, housing and transport industries.

Financial services and insurance companies can utilise its technology to derive better insights on customers and risks, improve compliance and data protection, manage customer accounts, bolster workflows and more.

Node4 CEO Andrew Gilbert said, “I am grateful for Bowmark’s help and support over the last five years, which has been instrumental in supporting Node4’s expansion and accelerating the company’s growth.

“We are excited to be working with Providence as Node4 continues to build momentum and swiftly moves on to the next stage of its ambitious growth journey.

“We will continue down our well-proven path of organic growth, building on Node4’s best-in-class systems and supplementing this with exciting strategic acquisitions.”

The company has accelerated its growth through three strategic acquisitions, which have helped it enhance its capabilities and reach new verticals.

One of the recent acquisitions was the MSP unit of K3 Business Technologies Group, which helped it improve its cloud managed services across the UK.

Bowmark recently bought shares in business data intelligence platform IWSR from FPE Capital.
