Marsh’s marketing arm acquires family-owned Vaaler Insurance

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), the marketing agency subsidiary of global insurance broker Marsh, has purchased Vaaler Insurance for an undisclosed fee.

According to Reinsurance News, Vaaler is a third-generation family-owned company that provides business insurance, employee health and benefits as well as personal lines solutions with specialised expertise in the education, healthcare and construction sectors.

The company currently employs 81 people and has locations in Grand Forks, Fargo and Bismarck in North Dakota, as well as a location in Fosston, Minnesota.

Vaaler CEO Bruce Vaaler – who will continue to lead the firm’s operations – said, “As risk continues to evolve, so does the need to provide sophisticated solutions and expertise to our clients. Joining MMA gives us the added strength and resources that will allow us to both support our clients and provide growth opportunities for our colleagues well into the future.”
