Intel 471 receives strategic investment from private equity firm

Cyber threat intelligence platform Intel 471 has scored a strategic investment from private equity firm Thoma Bravo.

Following the close of the growth investment, the company’s co-founders, Mark Arena and Jason Passwaters, will maintain a significant ownership position and continue to lead the business.

Founded in 2014, the cybersecurity company offers intelligence and monitoring on threat actors to help companies defend themselves from online threats. The platform leverages real-time intelligence on malicious actors, relationships, threat patterns, and imminent attacks. Its TITAN platform enables intelligence and security professionals to access structured information, dashboards, and intelligence reporting through a web or API integration.

Its use cases include anti-fraud, insider threat protection, threat hunting, third-party risk and more.

Thoma Bravo recently led the $225m Series F funding round of fellow cybersecurity company Illumio. The funding round, which was also supported by Franklin Templeton, Owl Rock and funds managed by Hamilton Lane, put the CyberTech company’s valuation at $2.75bn.
