Blee raises $20m to govern AI marketing content

Blee, an AI-first marketing compliance platform, has raised $20m in a Series A funding round designed to help legal, compliance, and brand teams keep pace with the surge in AI-generated content.

The round was co-led by Fin Capital and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund, with additional backing from Hannah Grey VC and National Bank of Canada.

Existing investors Y Combinator, Penny Jar Capital, Cardumen Capital, and Treasury also returned for the round, with Cardumen Capital noted as Blee’s original institutional backer. The fresh capital lifts Blee’s overall funding total to $27m.

The raise comes amid mounting pressure on corporate oversight functions. Recent Gartner research cited by the company found that marketing teams expect the share of content produced through AI-driven automation to more than double, climbing from 16% in 2026 to 36% by 2028.

As marketing departments lean further into AI to produce material at greater speed and volume than was possible just two years ago, and as autonomous agents begin generating content independently, legal and compliance functions have struggled to keep their review processes aligned with that growth.

Blee integrates alongside the content creation tools marketing departments already rely on, using AI to deliver real-time feedback on regulatory, legal, brand, and compliance considerations before material goes out for review.

According to the company, legal and compliance teams that use the platform have cut average review times by as much as 65%, allowing marketing and sales functions to move more quickly while still publishing with confidence.

The platform manages the entire pre-publication workflow, from initial submission through approval and comment rounds, while maintaining a full audit trail. After content goes live, Blee continues tracking it, including influencer social media posts and websites, to check ongoing regulatory and brand compliance.

The new funding will go toward broadening Blee’s capabilities across the content lifecycle, entering new industries and geographies, and reaching legal, compliance, marketing, and brand leaders at large organisations still handling this work manually.

Blee Founder and CEO Guy Shahar said, “Marketing teams are producing more content, across more channels, faster than ever, and legal and compliance teams are still expected to review all of it manually, with tools that weren’t built for the job.

“Whether it’s video campaigns, affiliate content, or digital ads, the volume will only grow as AI agents automate creation. The companies that set up their content governance layer now are going to be in a very different position than the ones that wait.”

Fin Capital General Partner Matthew Mann said, “We’ve been watching the problem of content growth for enterprise marketing teams across industries and within our network for years. Blee is the first platform we’ve seen that’s actually built for the scale of it.”
