InsurTech software developer dacadoo has helped Foresters Financial design and launch a new service aimed at rewarding people for healthy lifestyles.
The collaboration has helped launch Foresters Go, a wellness platform that can integrate with wearable app-enabled technology and leverages behavioural science to inspire and reward healthy lifestyles.
This service is now available as complimentary benefit to current and future Foresters customers in Canada and the US. It hopes to launch in the UK in 2022.
dacadoo and Foresters first announced their partnership earlier in the year. Working together, they customised Foresters Go based on feedback from over one thousand pilot participants, which comprised of members, advisors and employees.
One of the features of Go is health tracking, which is split across seven areas to monitor, physical, mental health, sleep, nutrition, mindfulness, physical activity, smoking habits and alcohol intake. The platform displays a health score of the user.
The Foresters Go service also supplies users with rewards for achieving goals, answering questions and engaging in activity challenges. These points can be used to receive tablets, smart watches, gift cards or make charitable donations. It claims there are thousands of rewards available.
Finally, the new service boasts customisability for advice and goal recommendations.
Foresters Financial president and CEO Jim Boyle said, “No one expects a 150-year-old fraternal life insurance company to be an industry disruptor, but our 19th century charter to enrich the well-being of our members and their communities, in many ways, was designed with the foresight of 21st century innovation.
“Foresters Go redefines the intersection of life insurance and wellness with a modern, fun, and scalable offering that aligns with the organization’s purpose.”
The app had a positive response from pilot participants, with 75% stating the app improved their personal health and wellbeing and would recommend the service to a friend or colleague.
dacadoo president and CEO Peter Ohnemus said, “We are pleased to have worked with Foresters, our first client that is a fraternal life insurer, and look forward to their members using our world-class solutions that have been carefully customized to their needs. This brings us one step closer to fulfilling our vision of providing great life and health outcomes worldwide through digital health engagement tools.”
The app is part of Foresters’ aim to build better member benefits, products and services to improve peoples’ lives.
Earlier in the year, dacadoo received the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and an ISO/IEC 27701:2019 certification from the International Standards Organization (ISO). These accreditations mean the InsurTech has implemented strong security measures and countermeasures to protect it from unauthorised activity.
dacadoo develops technology solutions for digital health engagement and health risk quantification.
