CertiK continues funding spree as it nets $80m Series B2

Blockchain security firm Certik has bagged $80m from a Series B2 financing raise led by Sequoia Capital China.

The round also saw participation from existing investors Coatue Management, GL Ventures and Tiger Global.

To date, CertiK has raised $140m. The company recently raised $24m from a Series B+ round in August and $37m from a Series B raise in July.

CertiK claims to be a pioneer in blockchain security. Its AI technology is able to audit and monitor blockchain protocols and smart contracts.

Clients can use the technology to build applications with security and correctness at the heart. Its Skynet solution utilises on-chain and off-chain data to provide real-time insights into the security of DeFi applications.

A spokesperson for Sequoia said, “Blockchain security is an indispensable link in the commercial value chain overall. We are very proud to invest in CertiK, which is deeply involved in this field. This is an important addition to our global blockchain investment landscape. We believe that CertiK can create synergies with other companies we have invested in. Our goal is that Sequoia can provide CertiK with resources to jointly develop the blockchain security market.”
