Acrisure sets foot in Spain with Summa Insurance

Global insurance broker Acrisure has acquired Spain-based Summa Insurance Brokerage, marking its entry into its tenth global market.

The acquisition of Summa is Acrisure’s first expansion into the Spanish market; the company is now present in ten countries.

This follows Acrisure’s recent acquisition of Appalachian Underwriters in the US, and the launch of its cyber services division.

Founded in 2005, Summa has grown its revenues to over $13m and expanded its offices throughout Spain. This deal will see the provision of an array of tech-driven financial solutions in areas such as insurance, re-insurance, asset management, real estate and cyber services.

Jose Antonio Vargas Gonzalez, Summa’s president and CEO, said, “The partnership with Acrisure will be immensely valuable to us as we integrate their tech-driven approach and capabilities into our operations. This will allow us to rapidly accelerate our growth in Spain and offer clients a robust suite of solutions.”
