One of the biggest change agents of the pandemic has been the move en-masse to remote working. While some companies are now returning to the office, the hybrid working schedule looks set to continue.
In a recent post by RegTech firm Dubber, the company examined how hybrid working is changing company cultures and how businesses can manage this change. To go alongside this, the company provided key facts from Incisiv’s 2022 Future of Work Survey to provide real-world examples.
There is a necessity for all companies to ensure there is some form of strong corporate culture. Prior to the pandemic, the corporate culture was mostly developed in the office, with working from home arrangements fairly rare. However, the pandemic has changed everything.
Citing a quote from the study, Dubber said, “The Pandemic has forever changed the trajectory of the work environment. CxOs understand this but culture, processes and technology are not yet mature enough to meet the expectations of today’s workforce.”
According to Dubber, sustaining company culture is one of the top challenges facing businesses today in the shift to hybrid work. This, the company claims, is because distance and lack of modernised technology have caused friction in the workplace, which has subsequently led to a decline in satisfaction with company culture overall.
Dubber also highlighted findings from The Future of Work Survey which detailed that 72% of companies currently lack a strategy and roadmap for a hybrid work model, as well as employee policies and communications, while 61% lack the right technology infrastructure.
The company also cited a further finding, “Only 56% of C-suite executives believe they have been able to sustain their organisation’s culture while working in a distributed working model.”
Dubber said, “Service providers can help bridge the gap that has emerged in company culture by offering solutions that monitor and assess employee wellbeing across distance.”
