Sustainable investing platform Goodvest closes crowdfunding campaign on double the target

Goodvest, a sustainable investment platform, closed its crowdfunding platform on €588,739, which was more than double its original target.

Its crowdfunding campaign, which was held on Crowdcube, had an initial target of €250,000.

The company raised the capital at a pre-money valuation of €9.1m, with shares priced at €73.38 apiece.

A total of 517 investors contributed to the round, with 6.06% of Goodvest’s equity distributed amongst them.

The FinTech company’s mission is to create a sustainable investment platform committed to climate change.

Based in France, Goodvest offers a personalised and transparent savings platform, which lets users choose responsible themes they want to invest in. The company claimed that while only 0.2% of funds are aligned with the Paris Agreement, 76% of people believe in the impact of investments.

Sustainable investing is gaining considerable momentum. A report from INSPIRE found that central banks are increasingly aligning their pensions and portfolios to sustainable outcomes.

There have also been a handful of sustainable investing platforms to launch and raise money. Last year, Clim8, a UK-based sustainable investing app, closed its own crowdfunding campaign on £2.85m. The company helps consumers invest into companies that are tackling the climate crisis.
