• French FinTech investment is expected to reach $4.5bn in 2022 based on Q1-Q3 2022 investment, a 32% increase from 2021. France’s largest FinTech deals occurred in 2022, significantly bolstering the years’ total investment. Qonto, an online bank, raised $552m and Ecovadis, an environmental assessment platform, raised $500m.
• Deal activity is expected to decrease slightly by 10% in 2022 from the previous year but average deal size from Q1-Q3 2022 reached $26m, a 50% increase from 2021. Average deal size has increased at a CAGR of 37.45% from 2018 – Q3 2022.
• Regate, a SaaS accounting platform, was the largest French FinTech in Q3 2022 raising $19.2m in their latest Series A funding round led by Valar Ventures. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and expand operations and its business reach in Germany and Spain. Regate also plans to become a certified platform for digitized receipts. This move will foster customer adoption as companies will be looking at solutions to help them comply with French regulation.
