Assurant, a global business services company that supports, protects and connects major consumer purchases, has launched an embedded insurance platform.
The platform, Assurant Product Experience Exchange (APEX), is a turnkey technology delivery platform that enables Assurant clients to customise and easily add embedded insurance and protection programs, support, and services into their omni-channel customer experiences.
The platform serves clients across multiple industries such as mobile, retail, housing, and automotive. Before integrating, Assurant said clients can securely view the product API library as well as test and review data they provide through a self-service portal.
APEX allows clients the flexibility to integrate in ways that work best for their digital customer experience and internal resources, whether through APIs, a customised website or widgets.
Using the platform, clients can offer a number of products and services to customers, including insurance and protection products; claims management; tech support; trade-in offers, as well as pricing and analytics.
Assurant added that APEX is the latest step in its ongoing investment in the transformation of its technology platforms, designed to deliver “outstanding customer experiences that grow clients’ businesses.”
Keith Meier, COO, Assurant, said, “Automation and personalisation through APIs and integrations with third-party providers will help our customers to drive revenue growth as consumers become increasingly comfortable with the idea of point-of-purchase add-ons.
“In fact, our research indicates that offering support and protection products at the point-of-purchase increases purchase intent by about 32%. APEX enables our clients to quickly and easily integrate these services without taxing already overburdened technology teams.”
Last year Assurant enhanced its protection offering for electric vehicles (EVs). The company enhanced its protection product created specifically for US owners of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), Assurant EV One Protection.
According to Assurant, it improved the product in order to meet the growing needs of owners of EVs.
