Obie, an InsurTech startup that offers insurance risk management for real estate investors, has been selected by co-buyer platform Nestment as its insurance partner to streamline the insurance process.

Obie claims it is reinventing the insurance process for landlords and rental property investors.

The company wants to help everyone achieve the dream of owning and renting property, and this dream shouldn’t be complicated, “whether that’s a young family renting out their first home, or a seasoned investor with a portfolio of properties,” the company said.

Nestment is on a mission to simplify co-ownership. Co-ownership through Nestment starts with creating a group with your intended partners and completing the provided legal and vending documents.

Nestment said it selected Obie as their insurance partner to streamline the insurance process for co-buyers. Co-buying is simply purchasing an asset, in this case property, with another party, such as a business partner, friend, or family member.

The company combines technology and industry expertise to give groups of family and/or friends everything they need to buy real estate together. Its platform breaks down the barriers that stop groups from buying homes together.

Nestment’s offering includes investment analysis of homes across the US, legal and lending tools and an ecosystem of co-buy professionals to leverage during the home buying process from start to finish.

Through this partnership co-buying groups will be able to obtain insurance on their property faster than ever, while also having a clear place to organise and divide financial responsibility within the Nestment platform.

According to Obie, co-buying is a great way to share the costs that are normally associated with real estate investing, while still building the sustainable wealth associated with property ownership. It also allows the buyer/s to still gain recurring revenue and any tax benefits that ovvur with property ownership.

Last year, Obie partnered with Belong, a home management company, in a bid to support new landlords.
