VakıfBank stands as Turkey’s second-largest bank concerning asset size and loans. With a robust approach, the bank provides state-of-the-art products and services for corporate, commercial, and individual banking sectors. Adhering to modern banking standards, VakıfBank is paving the way for a higher savings rate in Turkey.
However, like many institutions, the bank faced challenges. Historically, VakıfBank depended heavily on traditional hardware scanners for its workflow. This dependency meant that customers needed to physically visit the bank’s offices to submit essential paperwork.
Moreover, the frequent malfunctioning of these scanners added to a considerable annual downtime. These hardware scanners weren’t just expensive to purchase but also raised the workload of VakıfBank’s 22,000 employees, leading to decreased customer satisfaction.
Addressing this issue, VakıfBank sought a solution to digitise document submissions through its mobile application. The objective was to enhance user satisfaction, improve mobility, and significantly cut down wait times, staff workload, and the expenditure related to traditional scanners.
Scanbot SDK’s Document Scanner SDK emerged as the ideal solution. This tool permitted VakıfBank’s clients to upload documents directly via their Android mobile app. The user-friendly scanning interface and the instantaneous transmission of digitised copies provided a seamless experience. As a result, customers found themselves empowered to conduct transactions from any location, amplifying their contentment and fidelity to the bank.
The integration of Scanbot’s SDK led to a host of tangible benefits for VakıfBank:
- An annual savings of $1m
- 50% acceleration in the scanning process
- A substantial reduction in error reports, with 2,500 fewer incidents annually
“Integrating the Scanbot SDK into our application took us only three weeks and left us with countless benefits. The high-quality scanning components helped us boost customer satisfaction while significantly reducing costs – we are delighted about how this project turned out,” the IT Research & Development Team @ VakifBank stated.
A comparison of the old and new processes highlights the extent of the transformation. Previously, customers would hand in documents at local branches, which employees would then scan and upload after several steps. Post integration, customers just need to open the VakıfBank app, scan their documents, and directly upload them, simplifying the process immensely.
Scanbot SDK’s larger vision centres around streamlining operations for businesses globally. They have successfully incorporated machine learning algorithms that can comprehend diverse document types. This feature opens the door for automated processes that handle data in real-time. Keeping user data security at the forefront, the software encrypts scan results before transmitting, ensuring maximum privacy.
