Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey has embarked on a fresh endeavour by announcing its brand-new sustainability advisory services practice.

This innovative practice was conceived with the purpose of offering strategic counsel on ESG and sustainability matters. Recognising the significance of sustainability in the modern business climate, the service aims to assist boards, management teams, and investors in adeptly navigating the international sustainability business landscape.

Houlihan Lokey stands tall as a global investment bank. With its vast array of services, the bank has continually endeavoured to provide bespoke solutions that cater to the intricate financial needs of its global clientele.

The recently inaugurated Sustainability Advisory Services is set to operate under the umbrella of Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory (FVA) business. This new venture will focus on ESG-centric insights, valuation impacts, diligent transaction structuring, and comprehensive monitoring across the worldwide ESG spectrum.

The sustainability-focused practice boasts an adept leadership team, with Charlotte Peyraud and Rob Teigman at its helm. Peyraud, the new Co-Head of Sustainability Advisory Services, brings with her a rich legacy from Credit Suisse and Crédit Agricole CIB. Teigman, on the other hand, is the Co-Head of FVA’s Energy and Infrastructure practice and has an association with Houlihan Lokey spanning over 16 years.

Charlotte Peyraud, prior to her association with Houlihan Lokey, held significant roles, including Director, ESG Financing at Credit Suisse. She was also instrumental in leading Crédit Agricole CIB’s Sustainable Banking initiative for North and Latin America. Furthermore, her association with Sustainalytics as Manager of Sustainable Finance Solutions adds another feather to her cap.

Houlihan Lokey Global Co-Head of Financial and Valuation Advisory Drew Koecher said, “Houlihan Lokey recognises that sustainability—as a risk management framework that investors and stakeholders are concerned with—is here to stay, even as it will continue to evolve in the years ahead.

“With our new Sustainability Advisory Services, we will provide our clients with best-in-class insights and decision support impacting valuation, diligence, transaction structuring, and monitoring across the global ESG spectrum.”

Kreg Jackson, Global Co-Head of Financial and Valuation Advisory, mentioned, “Throughout her career, Charlotte has advised board members, management teams, and other stakeholders on sustainability issues, long before ‘ESG’ became common terminology. Her expertise in sustainable finance structuring, the ESG reporting landscape, ESG disclosure, benchmarking, and positioning will be highly valuable to existing and future clients.”

Charlotte Peyraud added, “In the rapidly evolving sustainability space, board members, management teams, and investors face a unique challenge. There is often a lack of clarity and inadequate tools to navigate crucial sustainability topics. I am thrilled to join Houlihan Lokey and work to provide the much-needed support in this relatively underserved space.”

Rob Teigman remarked, “Houlihan Lokey has always strived to stay at the forefront of industry trends. Our Sustainability Advisory Services offering is a testament to this commitment, ensuring our board of directors and financial sponsor clients have the strategic support they need.”
