DigiFinland, striving to spearhead digitalization across Finland’s public sector, has inked a significant deal with Tietoevry Tech Services, aimed at optimizing the ICT platform services offered to its customers, as well as internal IT services for its staff.
This collaboration, worth €21m, spans a robust seven-year contract period, and aspires to develop and sustain digital solutions that will streamline Finland’s social and health care, emergency services, and various other pivotal public sector services.
CEO of DigiFinland, Mirva Antila, said, “This partnership is aimed at helping us to succeed in our mission to create equal and impactful digital services in Finland. It enables us to better serve our clients in their changing needs.” The objectives are clear: to engender equality through the delivery of impactful digital services across the nation, meeting the evolving requirements of their clientele.
Selection criteria for the partnership extended beyond mere capabilities, placing substantial emphasis on mutual trust, an authentic partnership ethos, and the ability to adapt to foreseeable future needs. The extensive agreement incorporates a variety of services, including a service desk, governance, capacity and cloud services, cybersecurity services, and a rate card for expert consultation. Additionally, an option for end-user services is also provided within the deal.

With its key focus on fostering the digitization of public administration in Finland, DigiFinland’s ownership comprises Finland’s welfare regions, Helsinki University Hospital (HUS), the City of Helsinki, and the Finnish government. On the other hand, Tietoevry Tech Services is dedicated to aiding Nordic societies and businesses in modernising processes, applications, and infrastructure through leveraging automation, cloud technology, and data utilisation.
