Mintos, renowned for its unique combination of alternative and traditional investment options, has announced its official entrance into the French and Dutch markets.
This move is part of its ongoing European expansion, following successful launches in Germany, Italy, and Spain. Since its establishment in 2015, Mintos has seen a rapid increase in its user base, now boasting over 500,000 users across Europe. With authorisation from MiFID, the company oversees more than €600m in assets under administration, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey.
The investment landscape in France and the Netherlands presents a fertile ground for Mintos. A recent survey by the AMF in France, conducted in collaboration with the European Union and the OECD, found that nearly one in four French individuals holds investments in financial instruments or crypto-assets. This surge in investor interest is primarily driven by the desire for diversification, with 35% of new investors citing it as their main reason for investing. Remarkably, 90% of investors are confident in the long-term profitability of their investments.
Mintos CEO and co-founder, Martins Sulte, remarked on the evolving investment environment, saying, “In the ever-evolving landscape of investment, we want to emerge as the go-to platform for investors seeking sustained portfolio growth over time, prioritising stability over speculative gains.”
In the Netherlands, data from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) reveal that about a quarter of the nation’s private households, roughly 1.9 million, are actively engaged in investment activities. This indicates a significant interest and participation in the investment sphere, highlighting the growing awareness of financial planning and wealth management among Dutch households.
Sulte added, “These findings underscore the widespread interest and participation in investment opportunities among Dutch households, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of financial planning and wealth management.”
Mintos has established itself as a leader in the European investment platform sector, particularly in loan investments. It offers investors the chance to invest in consumer and small business credit, promising potentially attractive long-term returns. Additionally, Mintos has introduced Fractional Bonds, allowing investors to start with as little as €50 and incur zero commissions, alongside regular, fixed returns.
Another standout feature is its managed ETF portfolios, which are offered completely free of charge, setting Mintos apart from competitors. These portfolios include bond and equity ETFs from leading providers such as Amundi, iShares, JP Morgan, Vanguard, and more, underlining the platform’s commitment to providing accessible and diversified investment options.
