HCLTech and IBM have unveiled a new Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE) to offer tailored AI solutions.
This initiative, housed within HCLTech’s AI and Cloud Native Labs located in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara, is designed to facilitate enterprise innovation by modernizing legacy systems, simplifying IT service management development, and enhancing code modernization with the IBM watsonx™ platform.
Alan Flower, EVP, Global Head, AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, emphasized the transformative potential of this partnership. “This expansion of our work with IBM will facilitate rapid exploration of AI’s potential as we create highly differentiated HCLTech offerings using the latest IBM technology. We plan to embed watsonx in HCLTech AI Force with GenAI-powered solutions to support code modernization,” he noted.
Flower added that the initiative will also focus on accelerating GenAI adoption and enhancing digital skills for enterprise productivity through watsonx Orchestrate.
The collaboration between HCLTech and IBM also includes training 10,000 engineers and architects on the watsonx platform, aiming to leverage IBM’s cutting-edge AI technologies to foster continuous innovation across businesses.
Stephen Smith, General Manager, Service Partners at IBM Ecosystem, highlighted the strategic importance of responsible AI development. He said, “Driving adoption of responsible generative AI solutions is an important component of our collaboration with service partners like HCLTech. Through this Center of Excellence, we plan to empower our joint clients to rapidly explore, experiment and engineer generative AI solutions with watsonx that are designed to meet their current business challenges.”
The GenAI CoE will provide extensive resources for education and training on diverse AI technologies, including watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, watsonx Code Assistants, watsonx Orchestrate, and watsonx Assistant. These tools are intended to equip clients with the necessary skills and platforms for developing effective AI-driven business solutions.
