ClimeCo, a sustainability solutions company, has announced the launch of NatureLink, a new tool aimed at matching organisations with fully vetted, high-quality nature-based solution (NBS) projects.
NatureLink was developed to address several challenges that organisations face when pursuing nature-based solutions to climate change, according to ESG Today.
These include insufficient awareness, difficulty accounting for costs and benefits, particularly due to the long-term impact of these solutions, insufficient funding, limited knowledge and skills, and a need for more research into their effectiveness.
ClimeCo, known for its commitment to sustainability, offers a range of services and products aimed at helping organisations achieve their environmental goals. The company’s expertise spans project development, environmental consulting, and carbon management.
NatureLink is designed to reduce confusion in the crowded NBS marketplace. The tool includes an online questionnaire that covers topics such as offtake and structure, geographic and project type preferences, use of carbon credits, desired standards and labels, financial metrics, level of support, and the need for additional revenue streams. Based on the responses, NatureLink generates a list of optimal projects and partners from a robust portfolio of validated global NBS options.
In addition to its matchmaking capabilities, NatureLink aims to simplify the project procurement process, ensuring that each stakeholder’s specific needs are met. This tailored approach is expected to drive meaningful environmental and financial outcomes.
ClimeCo’s Executive Vice President, Commercial, Emma Cox, highlighted the bespoke nature of NatureLink, saying, “ClimeCo understands that nature-based solutions are not a one-size-fits-all approach. By acting as a matchmaker, we are addressing an industry-wide challenge: streamlining the project procurement process and ensuring that each stakeholder’s specific needs are met to drive the most meaningful environmental and financial outcomes.”
