Vanta, a leading trust management platform, has announced a substantial $150m Series C funding, marking a significant step in its journey to secure the internet and enhance consumer data protection.
Founded in 2018, Vanta has established itself as a pivotal player in the trust management sector, automating compliance and helping companies like Atlassian and ZoomInfo to strengthen their security frameworks.
The funding round, which puts Vanta at a valuation of $2.45bn, was led by Sequoia Capital with contributions from new investors including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives and J.P. Morgan, as well as continued support from existing investors such as Atlassian Ventures and Y Combinator.
Vanta’s platform automates the compliance with critical security frameworks like SOC 2, facilitating faster and more efficient security practices for over 8,000 companies globally.
The new funds will be directed towards enhancing Vanta’s AI capabilities, including the development of AI-powered Questionnaire Automation that accelerates security reviews by a factor of five. Additionally, Vanta plans to expand its global footprint, particularly focusing on markets in the UK and Australia, while also investing in enterprise-ready features to support larger clients.
Andrew Reed, Partner at Sequoia Capital, said, “Under Christina’s leadership, Vanta has grown into a special and enduring company. Now the clear market leader in Trust Management, Vanta has accelerated upmarket, launched innovative AI features, and delighted many thousands of customers along the way.
“Sequoia led Vanta’s Series A more than three years ago, and we are equally excited to lead Vanta’s Series C today. We look forward to helping them build a legendary security and compliance company for many years ahead.”
