VCI Global accelerates AI cloud expansion with $30m from Alumni Capital

VCI Global, a Nasdaq-listed leader in AI cloud computing solutions, has secured a substantial $30m investment from Alumni Capital LP.

This marks a significant reinforcement following an earlier $5m commitment from the same investor.

The funds are earmarked to propel VCI Global’s strategic push into its AI cloud computing sector. Notably, the investment will support the launch of the AI Computing Center (AICC) in Malaysia, which will be equipped with 512 NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs. This setup is expected to position the center among the global top 30 in processing capabilities, crucial for generative AI and high-performance computing applications.

VCI Global specializes in harnessing the power of AI to process vast amounts of data efficiently and swiftly. The establishment of the AICC marks a pivotal step in enhancing the company’s offerings to its clientele, particularly in the burgeoning Southeast Asian market.

Dato’ Victor Hoo, Group Executive Chairman and CEO of VCI Global, emphasized the investment’s impact, stating, “We are confident that this US$30 million investment from Alumni Capital will significantly empower our strategic growth in AI cloud computing. It enables us to establish a world-class AICC in Malaysia, serving clients globally, especially in Southeast Asia. We are fully committed to leveraging these resources to foster innovation and advance the AI landscape.”
