Thailand Post, the country’s largest postal service provider, has partnered with bolttech, a fast-growing global InsurTech, to launch an embedded motor insurance product.

The collaboration introduces a new embedded compulsory motor insurance service through Thailand Post’s extensive network, both online and offline.

The offering enables customers to purchase insurance conveniently via Thailand Post’s website or branches across the country, making it easier for people to access quality coverage.

Thailand Post operates as the primary postal service provider in Thailand, delivering a range of services, including logistics, communications, and financial services.

Bolttech is a global InsurTech company that focuses on connecting people with insurance and protection products via innovative technology solutions.

This partnership is driven by the goal of enhancing customer convenience in purchasing motor insurance.

By leveraging bolttech’s technological expertise and Thailand Post’s wide-reaching network, the companies aim to offer affordable and accessible insurance options while fostering the growth of the local insurance industry.

Thailand Post enables customers to purchase compulsory motor insurance, underwritten by ERGO Insurance (Thailand), through its digital and physical channels.

Bolttech powers this offering with its technology platform, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience. The coverage includes compensation for death, disability, loss of limb, and medical expenses for drivers, passengers, and other individuals involved in road accidents.

The service is currently available in six pilot provinces—Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Sing Buri, Chainat, and Saraburi—with plans to expand nationwide by 31 December 2024.

Customers can pay using multiple payment methods, such as credit cards, online banking, and Line Pay. Policies are delivered via email for immediate use and can be utilised for vehicle tax renewals at post offices.

Miss Pilantanee Suwanbubbha, chief marketing and business officer at Thailand Post, said, “Thailand Post is proud to support customers looking to purchase online motor insurance by partnering with bolttech, a global insurtech leader. Together, we are embedding competitively priced insurance through Thailand Post’s website, online channels, and postal branches nationwide. Customers can conveniently receive their policies via email and enjoy immediate coverage, backed by ERGO Insurance (Thailand).”
