COHO and GoCardless join forces to enhance property payment solutions

COHO, a leading property management software provider, has partnered with global bank payment company GoCardless to offer a seamless payment solution for property managers, landlords, and tenants.

The collaboration aims to simplify recurring and one-off payments, providing a streamlined experience for all stakeholders.

The partnership will enable COHO’s users—including single-let landlords and landlords managing houses in multiple occupancy (HMOs)—to collect payments effortlessly through a single platform. Tenants will benefit from a smooth, user-friendly payment process, ensuring rent and other charges are handled efficiently.

Through the integration with GoCardless, COHO customers can leverage direct debit to automate recurring rent payments, ensuring they are collected on time without manual intervention. Additionally, GoCardless’ open banking-powered Instant Bank Pay feature will facilitate one-off payments for rental deposits and ad hoc charges, offering a cost-effective alternative to card payments.

The partnership also provides landlords and property managers with enhanced financial insights. Payments are recorded in real-time, allowing for greater transparency and improved credit control processes in the event of late payments. This capability helps COHO customers manage rent arrears more effectively while ensuring compliance with property regulations.

GoCardless director of UK&I partnerships Tom Metcalfe said, “We’re excited to partner with COHO to simplify payments for landlords, property managers and their tenants. With automatic collection, instant visibility and one slick flow to set up end-to-end payments for new tenants, GoCardless bank payments are ideal for the property sector. We look forward to raising the bar on the payment experience together with COHO.”

COHO founder and CEO Vann Vogstad added, “This integration is perfectly aligned with our mission of helping customers grow whilst also improving the tenant experience. The unique combination of direct debit and open banking creates a seamless payment journey for tenants while reducing admin, costs and late payments for landlords and property managers. We have every confidence that this partnership will significantly reduce the payment admin burden for our customers.”
