Simply Asset Finance launches AI agent Kara

Simply Asset Finance, an SME lender, has launched a new AI-powered virtual agent named Kara to help reshape the lending experience and enhance operational efficiency.

Kara is designed to function as a “virtual employee”. Drawing from the vast trove of data collected since the company’s inception in 2017, Kara leverages machine learning to provide data-driven insights that enhance both internal and external interactions.

The tool is expected to assist in real-time decision-making by supporting credit applications, responding to broker and customer queries, and facilitating knowledge-sharing across teams.

Operating across multiple departments, Kara connects external data sources with Simply’s internal knowledge base. Her remit includes monitoring and optimising customer engagement, processing credit submissions, and surfacing insights to strengthen collaboration.

The launch of Kara comes at a milestone moment for Simply, which has now surpassed £1.75bn in total lending to UK SMEs. The company continues to grow rapidly, offering what it calls “Technology with a handshake”—a combination of digital innovation and personalised customer service.

Simply Asset Finance chief operating officer Ylva Oertengren said, “From day one we have been laser focused on gathering and structuring data and knowledge to build market leading expertise in SME lending. It is exciting to be in the position where we can use this advantage to deploy AI at scale across our operating model.

“Speed and efficiency are paramount to a fast scaling business like Simply, but so is excellence of experience and customer relationships. Kara embodies the expertise, creativity and collaboration that our teams represent. Working in tandem with our people, Kara will help shape and secure the future of our and our customers’ businesses.”
