Unit21 and Fingerprint have formed a new partnership to bolster fraud prevention capabilities in financial services.
The partnership aims to integrate Fingerprint’s device intelligence technology into Unit21’s fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) platform. By combining the strengths of both companies, the collaboration enhances FinTechs’ ability to detect and stop fraud in real time, addressing the growing challenges of online financial crime.
Unit21 offers a flexible, no-code platform for real-time fraud and AML detection. It allows FinTechs to build, test, and deploy custom rule sets without needing extensive coding expertise. The platform supports dynamic risk modeling, scalable compliance automation, and comprehensive data ingestion to streamline risk operations.
Fingerprint specialises in device intelligence, collecting over 100 unique signals from browser, device, and network layers. These signals are used to generate persistent and accurate device identifiers, enabling the detection of fraudulent patterns such as credential stuffing, geolocation spoofing, bot activity, and virtual machine usage.
Through this integration, FinTechs can now leverage real-time insights like bot and VPN detection, mismatched time zones, and abnormal device behaviours. This includes identifying login attempts across multiple accounts from the same device and spotting suspicious activity linked to elder abuse, tech support scams, and other sophisticated fraud tactics.
The collaboration also supports the fight against complex fraud types by improving visibility into potential red flags such as new or unrecognised devices, IP geolocation mismatches, and unusual login activity.
Unit21 product lead for fraud solutions Dhiraj Bhat said, “Combating fraud as a fintech is swift and complex. Without the right tools, the speed of crime will continue to outpace the speed of prevention. Embedding Fingerprint’s device intelligence technology into Unit21 brings real-time fraud prevention to the next level, empowering teams to prevent threats and not just review them after the fact.”
Fingerprint vice president of global sales Shaun Per said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Unit21 to integrate advanced device intelligence with one of the industry’s leading fraud and AML platforms. By combining Fingerprint’s industry-leading accuracy and reliability with Unit21’s powerful, flexible, and scalable platform, we can deliver real-time signals to detect and stop fraud faster to better protect customers.”
