Cascade has launched a new feature designed to address one of the most persistent operational challenges in compliance: the treatment of name screening alerts.
The new capability has been introduced in response to the growing volume of name screening alerts faced by compliance teams, alongside increasing regulatory scrutiny across the EU and Luxembourg. Manual alert triage remains time-consuming and repetitive, often diverting skilled analysts away from higher-risk investigative work. Cascade’s latest launch is aimed squarely at reducing this operational burden while maintaining strong governance and auditability.
Cascade is a leading end-to-end AML software forged in Luxembourg, one of the world’s toughest AML jurisdictions. Cascade bring a full 360° AML/KYC framework to every stage of all type of business relationships whether you deal with the client, fund, asset, investor or counterparties.
Clients value Cascade’s completeness of the risk based approach in AML processes, and live views of each file which makes AML reporting easy, consistent and always audit-ready while freeing compliance officers from spreadsheets and manual checks. From onboarding, structured risk assessments to ongoing monitoring. It includes daily name screenings against the world’s top data sources Dow Jones, LSEG and Acuris Risk Intelligence.
The newly launched Automated Treatment of Name Screening Alerts auto-classifies screening hits and generates a concise, structured narrative to justify each proposed classification. Rather than relying on manual documentation, the system produces clear rationales that explain why an alert is a true match or a false positive, referencing key matching criteria such as name, country, city trade register information, and similar.
Beyond classification, the product preserves full control and governance. Approvals remain firmly within the organisation’s existing processes, with analysts able to accept, edit or reject each proposal. Every action is captured with time logs and owner logs, creating a complete audit trail that supports internal reviews and regulatory inspections. Customers have highlighted the value of the automatically generated justification narratives, which are designed to be transparent, concise and easy to review.
The product operates seamlessly within Cascade’s existing screening workflow. Alerts are screened as usual, after which the system generates classification proposals. Common fuzzy matches follow prescribed handling designed to simplify review, while the generated narratives summarise the parameters considered. Human oversight remains central, ensuring accountability is retained at all times.
This launch comes at a time when regulatory expectations around sanctions governance and record-keeping are tightening. FATF standards and EU guidance continue to stress traceability and explainability in AML controls, while the European Banking Authority’s sanctions guidelines will begin applying from December 2025 for institutions in scope. Cascade’s structured workflows and audit trails are positioned to align closely with these supervisory themes.
The product is expected to benefit organisations screening at scale, including fund and corporate administrators, asset managers, wealth managers and all regulated companies. For these teams, automated classification combined with stored narratives and robust audit trails can significantly reduce manual effort while strengthening compliance outcomes.
