Kreios and BVI bring AI-driven compliance to German funds

Kreios

Kreios and BVI have entered into a strategic cooperation aimed at translating regulatory expertise into operational fund compliance using artificial intelligence and rules-based automation.

The partnership has been formed in response to the increasing complexity of regulatory requirements facing fund management companies in Germany, alongside growing pressure to move away from manual, document-heavy compliance processes. By combining regulatory expertise with technology, the two organisations aim to help firms implement regulatory requirements more efficiently, consistently, and in a way that is fit for future supervisory expectations.

Kreios provides an AI-driven, document-producer-independent compliance and oversight platform, REGMATIX, which enables automated document checks, digital validation rules, and intelligent review logic. Through the platform, regulatory requirements can be converted into operational controls that are embedded directly into existing processes and control routines, allowing compliance teams to scale their oversight activities without increasing manual workload.

The BVI contributes its deep regulatory expertise and standardised regulatory content, starting with its standard modules for the PRIIPs Key Information Document. As part of the cooperation, this content is being integrated into the REGMATIX platform and transformed into digital validation rules. This approach allows regulatory requirements to be applied systematically in practice, rather than interpreted manually on a case-by-case basis.

Under the arrangement, the digital validation rules and AI-supported content will be made available to fund management companies irrespective of BVI membership. This ensures that the solution can be adopted broadly across the German fund market and embedded directly into firms’ operational compliance frameworks, offering a standardised and technologically advanced access point to regulatory expertise.

The partnership will be showcased publicly for the first time at the BVI Fund Operations Conference on 24 February in Frankfurt. During a joint presentation, Kreios and the BVI will demonstrate how AI, rules-based automation, and regulatory knowledge interact, and how this combination delivers tangible operational value for fund companies’ compliance functions.

Ulf Herbig, Kreios CEO said, “Product governance, outsourcing oversight, and compliance reviews are evolving from manual controls to intelligent, AI-supported processes. Together with the BVI, we are translating regulatory knowledge into scalable, automated control mechanisms for the first time, making regulatory requirements directly operational.”

Rudolf Siebel, managing director of the BVI said, “The growing complexity of regulation calls for new, digital approaches. With our regulatory expertise, we support an AI-driven solution that helps fund management companies implement regulatory requirements efficiently.”

Through the cooperation, Kreios and the BVI are signalling a broader shift in fund compliance away from purely manual reviews towards AI-supported, standardised, and scalable control processes designed to meet both current and future regulatory demands.
