allpay has partnered with Vouchsafe, an identity verification technology company, to launch DOSH, a new prepaid Mastercard account designed to bring more people into the financial system.
The partnership was formed to address financial exclusion in the UK by providing a more accessible route to opening a payment account. DOSH has been built specifically for individuals who are often locked out of traditional financial services, including those without a fixed address, government-issued photo ID, or access to credit.
Allpay draws on decades of experience delivering payment solutions for the public sector. DOSH is the company’s response to the reality faced by nearly one million people in the UK who remain unbanked — unable to access even a basic bank account — making routine tasks such as receiving wages, paying bills, and managing money significantly more difficult.
Vouchsafe provides identity verification technology that moves away from a sole reliance on difficult-to-obtain documents. Instead, its system enables individuals to be vouched for by someone they trust, offering a more flexible and inclusive method of confirming identity without requiring credit checks or extensive paperwork.
By integrating Vouchsafe’s technology as the primary KYC (Know Your Customer) verification layer for DOSH, the two companies have created a service that maintains high compliance standards whilst removing the barriers that prevent many people from opening accounts.
The product has also been built with strong privacy and security protections, including biometric login options, passcode protection, card-freezing capabilities, and full encryption. A dedicated human DOSH support team is available where additional assistance is needed.
