ZestyAI, an AI-driven property risk intelligence company, has revealed that the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), one of the United States’ foremost environmental advocacy groups, is leveraging its ZORRO Discover™ product to advance climate-focused research and public policy initiatives.
The organisation’s FAIR Future Team is utilising ZORRO Discover™ to scrutinise insurance rate filings, observe shifts in regulatory policy, and strengthen climate-driven advocacy across American insurance markets.
Built on agentic AI, the platform draws together more than two million property and casualty rate and form filings — spanning upwards of 200 million pages of regulatory documentation — into one unified, searchable system. NRDC plans to harness the platform to drive state-level advocacy and examine rate and risk dynamics in priority jurisdictions.
The partnership arrives at a moment when climate-driven disruption is fundamentally altering property insurance markets, placing growing demands on advocates and policymakers to deliver data-backed solutions. The challenge has long been one of access: the relevant data is frequently buried across hundreds of pages per filing, dispersed among many insurers and states.
ZORRO Discover™ seeks to close that gap, extending the kind of regulatory intelligence that insurers routinely draw upon to those working in the policy and research space — enabling a clearer picture of how insurance markets operate and develop.
NRDC global financial regulations specialist Alfonso Pating said, “Insurance filings contain critical information about how risk is being priced and why—but extracting that information across dozens of companies and multiple states has traditionally required an enormous investment of time and effort.”
ZestyAI founder and CEO Attila Toth said, “Insurance filings contain the most detailed record of how risk is priced—but until now, they haven’t been accessible or usable at scale. That changes how insurance markets can be understood. We’re pleased to support NRDC’s work in this area.”
