KYCP targets compliance bottlenecks with data retention overhaul

RegTech platform KYCP has unveiled a dedicated Data Retention Module, replacing what was previously a cumbersome, script-heavy compliance process with a streamlined, no-code interface designed to give compliance teams direct control over their own data retention policies.

Until now, KYCP users managing their General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data retention obligations were reliant on running complex scripts and manual reports. The new module aims to eliminate that friction entirely, enabling customers to define, manage, and monitor retention policies without requiring technical intervention.

At the heart of the update is a self-service policy builder housed within the Programmes Section of KYCP under the new “Data Retentions” module. The tool supports the creation of policies across two distinct data categories: live applications, those actively progressing through the KYCP workflow, and deleted applications, which reside in the platform’s recently launched Deleted Records module.

For live data, users can construct policies based on a range of triggers, including the date an application was created, its current workflow status, or any date-type field associated with an entity.

Once a threshold has been reached, whether defined in days, months, or years, an automated alert is generated. This allows compliance officers to flag applications that have been sitting in a particular status for too long, or records that have exceeded a specified retention window, without having to run manual checks.
