Smarsh brings Claude Enterprise into compliance platform

Smarsh, a global provider of digital communications data and intelligence, has announced a new integration with Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API, enabling businesses to capture and govern Claude Enterprise interactions directly within its Smarsh Capture platform.

The integration allows organisations to ingest AI-generated conversations, prompts, files, and activity logs, including deleted messages, archived conversations, and Claude-generated artefacts, into existing compliance workflows. Powered by the Claude Compliance API, the tool provides direct access to Claude Enterprise conversation data and activity records, feeding them into Smarsh’s unified platform for capture, supervision, and analytics.

The move addresses a growing challenge for compliance teams as generative AI becomes more deeply embedded in day-to-day business operations. Prompts, files, and system events generated through tools such as Claude Enterprise are increasingly considered part of official communications records, creating fresh regulatory and operational risks.

By incorporating Claude Enterprise alongside more than 100 other communication channels already supported, Smarsh aims to give organisations a consolidated view of both human and AI-generated communications.

The new capability is designed to help regulated businesses maintain audit-ready records, identify emerging risk patterns across AI usage, and better understand how AI-generated outputs are shaping decisions and operations.

Smarsh is trusted by 18 of the top 20 banks across North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as brokerage firms, insurers, registered investment advisers, and government agencies. Its cloud-native, AI-powered platform covers capture, archiving, and oversight, with a focus on helping enterprises identify regulatory, reputational, and operational risks before they escalate.

Smarsh chief strategy officer Goutam Nadella said, “Organizations want to move quickly with AI, but they can’t afford to do so without proper governance. This integration enables our customers to adopt tools like Claude Enterprise while maintaining the transparency, control, and compliance required in regulated industries.”
