WTW unveils AI tool to identify workforce productivity gains

Professional services firm WTW has launched a new workforce transformation offering designed to help organisations identify where artificial intelligence can deliver the greatest productivity gains and support wider adoption across the business.

The AI Workforce Transformation solution combines workforce data, job analysis and change management tools to help companies assess the impact of AI on jobs, skills and organisational structures.

The launch comes as business leaders face increasing pressure to demonstrate returns on AI investments and translate emerging technologies into measurable productivity improvements.

According to WTW, the new offering draws on the company’s proprietary data covering jobs, skills and work processes. It incorporates two AI-enabled tools: WorkVue Agent, which assesses the automation potential of roles across an organisation, and ChangeVue, which evaluates readiness for AI adoption.

The solution is intended to help organisations identify areas where AI could have the greatest impact, redesign jobs and workflows, and support the wider workforce changes required for implementation.

WTW said analysis of around 900 occupations highlighted significant differences in automation potential across industries and job types.

The research found that between 60% and 70% of tasks in highly structured operational, administrative and clerical roles could potentially be automated. In industrial and frontline positions, up to 75% of repeatable tasks were identified as suitable for automation, while professional and judgement-based roles showed automation potential of between 20% and 35% of tasks.

The company said the findings point to opportunities for organisations to redesign work and increase collaboration between employees and AI systems rather than replacing entire roles.

The initiative is being led by Suzanne McAndrew, WTW’s global employee experience business leader, and Shai Ganu, the firm’s global executive compensation and board advisory practice leader.

Julie Gebauer, president of WTW’s Health, Wealth & Career business, said, “AI Workforce Transformation gives C-suite leaders the evidence they need to add AI where it drives the most productivity and growth, and to move faster than competitors who are still guessing.”

Shai Ganu said, “Boards don’t need more theory on AI—they need precision. As their mandates expand to cover human capital governance, fiduciary duty now means knowing exactly where AI creates value and how work must be redesigned to capture it. We’ve cracked that code.”

Suzanne McAndrew added, “This era calls for change acceleration. As AI reshapes jobs, workflows and organisational structures, getting the human experience right will convert disruption into a lasting competitive edge. It’s why we believe that while AI transforms work, people make it better.”

The launch reflects growing demand from organisations seeking to balance investment in AI technologies with workforce planning, governance and employee adoption as businesses move from experimentation to wider deployment.
