Federato, an AI-native InsurTech platform serving the full insurance policy lifecycle, has announced its entry into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Japan markets, marking a significant step in its international growth.
The San Francisco-based company will initially direct its focus towards carriers and managing general agents (MGAs) writing commercial lines across Australia and New Zealand, before extending its reach to Singapore, Japan, and Korea. To anchor this expansion, Federato has established its first permanent regional presence with a new office in Sydney.
Heading up the push into the region is Roland Slee, who has been appointed regional vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan. Slee arrives with considerable regional pedigree, having spent four years directing Guidewire’s operations across Asia Pacific and Japan. Prior to that, he accumulated close to two decades at Oracle in Asia-Pacific sales leadership roles before steering Bravura Solutions’ Sonata platform from 1% to 26% of global revenues, a run that contributed to the company’s successful ASX listing. He holds a graduate qualification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is a Fellow of the University of Technology Sydney, and a Fellow of Engineers Australia.
Federato’s platform, already deployed by Fortune 100 carriers in the United States, is positioned as the only AI-native solution that covers the entire insurance policy lifecycle. Rather than layering AI capabilities onto existing legacy infrastructure, the platform integrates agentic AI directly into insurers’ day-to-day workflows.
