FinregE tackles EU AMLA Single Rulebook complexity

FinregE has published an expert guide aimed at helping firms prepare for the EU’s sweeping anti-money laundering reforms ahead of the 2027 deadline.

The guide, titled “The European Union’s Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) Single Rulebook: 2027 Compliance Guide,” offers a strategic roadmap for financial institutions, obliged entities and compliance officers grappling with the largest reshaping of the bloc’s AML and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regime in ten years.

The reforms centre on the creation of the AMLA and a Single Rulebook that swaps the current patchwork of national transpositions for a directly applicable regulation. The EU’s ambition is to shut down loopholes and reinforce the integrity of the internal market, though the RegTech firm warns that the journey to 2027 readiness remains highly complex for many organisations.

Within the guide, readers will find in-depth analysis of AMLA’s new supervisory powers, including its direct oversight of high-risk entities, alongside a breakdown of how the unified rules will end so-called regulatory shopping.

It also maps out the critical milestones on the road to 2027, offers gap analysis frameworks for benchmarking existing AML/CFT programmes against incoming requirements, and explores how Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Beneficial Ownership transparency obligations are set to evolve.

FinregE positions the resource as essential reading for Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs), Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) and legal counsel, who must bring governance structures and risk appetites in line with the new European standards or face heavy penalties and reputational harm.

FinregE offers a Regulatory Operating System (FinregE ROS) that uses AI-powered NLP and machine learning to automate horizon scanning and regulatory mapping, allowing organisations to keep pace with technical standards and guidelines issued by the AMLA authority in real time rather than simply reacting to them.

FinregE CEO Rohini Gupta said, “The transition to the AMLA Single Rulebook is not merely a reporting update, it is a fundamental shift in how compliance must be structured across borders. Our guide is designed to strip away the regulatory jargon and provide a practical, actionable roadmap to ensure firms are not just compliant by 2027 but are operationally resilient.”

Gupta added, “Navigating the transition to the EU’s Single Rulebook is a monumental task that exceeds the capabilities of traditional spreadsheets and static documents. FinregE provides a Regulatory Operating System (FinregE ROS) specifically designed to handle the complexity of the AMLA package.”
