Robinhood brings zero-fee crypto trading to UK

Robinhood, the US-headquartered trading platform, is expanding its UK offering with zero-fee digital asset trading through Bitstamp UK Ltd, bringing more than 50 digital assets into its investment app.

The launch gives eligible UK customers access to digital assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Hyperliquid alongside Robinhood’s existing stocks and shares ISAs, equities, options and futures products. The company said the digital asset service has no trading, account maintenance or custody fees.

Robinhood is an app-based investment platform offering UK customers stocks and shares ISAs, equities, options, futures and digital asset trading.

Robinhood said its pricing is designed to offer UK investors a lower-cost alternative to established platforms, which it claims can use unclear pricing structures and wide spreads that reduce customer returns. The trading service is rolling out to eligible UK customers this week.

The company is also adding Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto, a generative AI tool designed to help investors understand movements in individual digital assets. The feature draws on breaking news, market data, technical indicators and Robinhood’s own analysis before presenting the information in plain English.

Robinhood is also expanding its blockchain offering in the UK through Robinhood Chain. Developers can build on the Layer 2 blockchain, which was developed on the Arbitrum platform to institutional standards and is connected to Robinhood’s onchain ecosystem.

Since its global launch on 1 July, Robinhood said the chain has recorded more than $18bn in decentralised exchange trading volume and exceeded $840m in total value locked.

The company also highlighted its Robinhood Learn and Help Center resources, which provide educational material for customers, alongside 24/7 in-app chat support for those navigating digital asset markets.

Robinhood UK president and Bitstamp UK GM Jordan Sinclair said, “A new wave of UK investors sees digital assets as an important part of a diversified portfolio. With today’s launch, we’re taking another major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.”
