MissionSquare has expanded beyond its retirement-focused offering with the launch of a personal wealth management business, giving its existing customer base access to investment, advisory and planning services for a broader range of financial needs.
The financial services company, which has served individuals and families since 1972 and manages more than $73.6bn in assets, has launched the new offering as it looks to support customers beyond retirement planning. The expansion includes a new brokerage account and digital adviser, giving customers options for managing both retirement and non-retirement investments.
The MissionSquare Brokerage Account provides access to individual retirement accounts (IRAs) and taxable accounts for customers managing short and long-term financial goals.
MissionSquare Digital Adviser, meanwhile, is a robo-adviser available for both IRAs and taxable, nonqualified accounts. Digital Adviser portfolios will be constructed by MissionSquare Investments using strategies from established asset managers. The portfolios will be tailored around individual customers’ goals, existing holdings and risk appetite.
The new products are available through MissionSquare’s redesigned corporate website, extending the firm’s digital offering as it moves further into personal wealth management.
The expansion comes as customers increasingly look to consolidate their financial services. Research cited by MissionSquare found that 47% of individuals would prefer to consolidate their financial and related needs with a single provider rather than use multiple firms.
MissionSquare has appointed Shannon Hogendorn, previously head of wealth management, as president of its broker-dealer subsidiary, which has been rebranded as MissionSquare Wealth Management. The firm is also continuing to expand its team with specialists across retirement and personal wealth management.
MissionSquare CEO Andre Robinson said, “We recognise that individuals today want more than retirement guidance; they want a trusted partner who can simplify their full financial lives. By expanding our solutions with a new personal wealth management offering, we’re delivering on that expectation with modern, convenient tools and personalised support that can help individuals and families move confidently toward their goals.”
Technology infrastructure for the new offering will be provided through a partnership with Apex Fintech Solutions. Its Ascend Investor product will support self-directed and robo-investing, while Apex’s subsidiary, Apex Clearing Corporation, will provide trade execution and asset custody for the new accounts.
The firm’s expansion into personal wealth management also forms part of a broader product roadmap. MissionSquare said it plans to introduce further offerings across 2026 and beyond, including high-yield savings accounts and broader IRA support.
MissionSquare Wealth Management president Shannon Hogendorn added, “Expanding our core planning services to include personal wealth management solutions reflects our commitment to meeting customers where they are in their financial journeys. We are building a platform that offers choice, flexibility, and trusted guidance, allowing individuals and their families to take control of their financial futures with confidence.”
