Twenty7tec launches Steppl client portal

Twenty7tec, a technology provider serving mortgage, protection and pension advisers, has introduced Steppl, a new client engagement platform built with artificial intelligence readiness at its core.

The tool gives customers a single space to oversee their digital relationship with an adviser, while cutting down on the follow-ups, repeated requests and manual admin that frequently surround the advice journey.

The launch follows findings from the Open Property Data Association showing that a majority of people buying homes, 62.3%, have had to submit the same paperwork or details more than once. The same research found that 40.6% of respondents regard communication between the various parties involved as the toughest part of the process, and 39.5% said having to chase for progress updates worsens the overall experience.

Steppl allows advice businesses to build client journeys that can be tailored to their existing ways of working, covering everything from initial onboarding through to continued engagement. Advisers remain central to the relationship throughout, even as clients gain access to a more streamlined and connected experience.

Firms using the platform can set up their own fact finds, process stages and task lists to match their internal workflows. Optional extras, such as credit checks, digital identity and liveness verification, and document scanning, can be licensed on top and woven into the same client experience.

Steppl also links into Twenty7tec’s broader technology ecosystem, which includes its ADVICE and RESEARCH products. This is intended to ensure that information gathered from clients feeds into the wider advice process instead of remaining siloed in a separate system. The company’s overall platform approach centres on cutting down duplicated data entry and joining up client engagement, sourcing, advice delivery, compliance and reporting into a more connected whole.

Twenty7tec CEO James Tucker said, “Clients don’t see a mortgage, pension or protection need as a collection of different systems and processes. They see one relationship with their adviser, and the technology around that relationship should feel just as joined up.

“Steppl gives clients somewhere they can come back to and understand what they have with their adviser, what is happening now and what they need to do next. For the firm, it means collecting information more intelligently, reducing repetition and having a much clearer view of the client.

“The aim isn’t to digitise the adviser out of the process. It’s the opposite. If technology can take care of more of the collecting, chasing and administration, advisers have more time for the conversations where their expertise matters.”
